S.’s trip
«Now I feel very good. The only thing that still affects me is seeing the police. I remember that time. But time will heal this. Italian people are very similar to Iranian culture, very kind, very friendly. I don't want to go back. I knew about Italy before, not much, but I knew it. I didn't even know Greece, Albania, Bosnia, or Montenegro existed. But I knew Italy. I love Italy because of your language.
My dream for the future is to be a good model. But after this trip I've changed my target: I want to, after learning Italian (through language courses), go to university to study psychology. Because now I can understand everything, because I learned a lot of things on this trip. I think I'm not 25 anymore. In terms of experience, I'm now 30, maybe more. At 25 you usually don't have much experience, but now I have a lot. I've seen a lot of things, a lot of people from any country, and I feel things that others, maybe in their whole lives, will never feel. Because this road was very hard.
On this road, many people change — their humanity changes. No one is kind to anyone. There is a lot of good, a lot of bad: people steal, people kill, no one cares about anything. But now, going into the street legally, in this one month, I feel very, very good. Free.»
